Tomorrow evening John and I will be on a plane to Sydney Australia. He's having a "non-birthday" this year, because, as we fly over the International Date Line, we'll skip the day.  A bonus year, for him.  I'll be blogging about our travels, as usual, as we go.

We've spent a glorious four months home, and have been very busy.  John has been booking our tours, and you can see where we'll be going and when here.

I've been working on a new quilt for my brother, class samples for the Caribbean cruise, writing the Singing Quilter Songbook (including all the stories), and planning my veggie garden for this summer.

Would you like to see more stories in these newsletters?  More tour tales?  More pictures? Let me know!

If this is the first newsletter from me you've received, Welcome!  I send them out periodically, when there's something I think you'll be interested in.  If you'd like to follow our doings more often, join my Facebook "fan" page at!/pages/Cathy-Miller/59712236960

Houston Quilt Festival

Are you going to Houston this year?
We'll see you there!

From November 2-6 we'll be at the festival.
Come and visit our booth, attend our concert (Friday 5-6pm) or take a class with Cathy on Sunday morning!

Yes, for the first time, I'll be teaching at Houston, bringing my very popular "Mock Mola Applique" class to the masses!
I'm very excited about this opportunity.
It's been a couple of years since we had a booth at Houston,
and we'll be attending with the new CD and (if all things go according to plan) a new SONGBOOK!

What Cathy is working on now:

s The Singing Quilter Songbook is proceeding apace!  All the stories, scores and photographs have been sent to the artist for layout.  I'll be proofing things via email, and we hope to go to press this summer!

s I've just finished a new quilt for my brother.

s While we are on tour, I'm hoping to complete my little hexagons - currently called "Insanity"!  FINALLY, after 3 1/2 years!

Stitched - a documentary about quilting

Two of my songs will be used in this new documentary film.  The filmmakers followed three art quilters for a year: Caryl Bryer Fallert, Hollis Chatelain and Randall Cook, as they prepared to enter quilts into the Houston Quilt Show.  The will be using "100 Ways to Hide Your Stash" (from "One Stitch at a Time" cd) and "You Just Might Be a Quilter" (from "Little Crazy Quilt" cd). I'm in very good company here - Ricky Tims has also contributed music to the project. See a short clip of the project here.  The film will be released in April of 2011.
