It's been a long while since you've received one of my newsletters. I've been very busy. John and I flew to Australia on December 16th (via Shanghai) and had 6 weeks looking in on friends in Darwin, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and parts in between. We flew home via a week in Hawaii to celebrate my 60th birthday!
Everyone is saying how tanned I look just now - I guess I am, after all that time in warm climates! We saw 47C in Melbourne during the Australian Open tennis tournament - you don't go out sunbathing in those temperatures!
Very exciting news this month about my first gallery show (see below). And a couple of pictures of quilts made by students.
I hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day - next: start pulling out the green!
If this is the first newsletter from me you've seen, welcome! I post them here on the website once a month or so, when there's something I think you'll be interested in. You can sign up for email notifications of new newsletters by sending me an email with "Subscribe" in the header. If you'd like to follow our doings more often, join my Facebook "fan" page (link at the left) or the blog (where I often write about our travels).
If you would like to be removed from the email list, send an email to email@example.com with "Unsubscribe" in the subject line.
What I'm Working On
We were home for three weeks in December, before we left for Australia, and I took the opportunity to make my second-last quilt for the Refractions show. It took 50 hours (everyone always asks "How long did it take to do that?", so I've kept track!), worth every moment. I'm currently adding "bling" (Swarovsky crystals) to make it really glitter.
The Villages, FL concert and Mock Mola class
We continue the tour in May with dates in Ontario, Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. In June we'll be heading home via Nova Scotia, Ontario and Wisconsin. We still have dates available, so get in touch if you want us to come and see you!
Thank you for reading this newsletter.
